Al-Hidayah (Fiqh [Islamic religious laws])

The text of this book is entirely and verbatim based on hadiths, hence one of the resources of al-Majlisi’s magnum opus Bihar al-anwaar. The Arabic text has been collated and checked against several old manuscripts. The book begins with the most comprehensive biography of the late Sheikh Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Babawayh al-Qummi “Sheikh al-Saduq” (d. 381 AH/ 991), including his birth, genealogy, teachers and disciples, both Sunnite and Shiite. The materials of this book draw upon over 250 Sunnite and Shiite authoritative sources.
